After the tenant has vacated the landlord’s rental property, the landlord has 60 days to return the deposit. Should the landlord withhold the total deposit (minus damages/rent due) from the tenant, the tenant may be entitled to double the amount of the money wrongfully withheld, plus any applicable court/attorney fees.^[1]
