New Hampshire Voter Registration Form – Register to Vote in NH

A New Hampshire voter registration form is a document completed by a resident to register them to vote in an upcoming election. In order to register to vote in New Hampshire, you must be at least eighteen (18) years old, a resident of New Hampshire, and a U.S. citizen. Furthermore, you cannot vote if you are incarcerated. If you have recently completed a sentence or have been put on parole/probation, you must re-register to vote. Registration can only be accomplished in-person, either at the office of your local City or Town Clerk at least ten (10) days before Election Day or at your designated polling station on Election Day. Only people who are currently out-of-state, who are military personnel, or who are disabled are permitted to request an absentee ballot by mail. Identification is required in order to register to vote and when voting.

Voter ID (§659:13) –  New Hampshire residents are required to present an accepted form of identification at their polling station on Election Day in order to vote. The most commonly accepted types of ID are as follows:

  • U.S. driver’s license
  • U.S. passport
  • DMV-issued photo ID
  • U.S. government ID
  • U.S. military ID

How to Register

Step 1 – In order to vote in New Hampshire, you must register in-person at your City or Town Clerk ten (10) days in advance of Election Day or at your polling place on Election Day. Click here to access the City/Town Clerk locater webpage.

Step 2 – Select your Town or City by using the drop down menu and enter the security code before clicking Search to proceed.

Step 3 – On the subsequent page, you will be able to view the contact and address information for your Town/City Clerk.

Step 4 – Go your City/Town Clerk’s office during their opening hours and bring an accepted form of identification and proof of address (utility bill, lease, bank statement, etc.) with you. There, as long as you meet the registration requirements, you will be able to register to vote.
