New Jersey Voter Registration Form – Register to Vote in NJ

A New Jersey voter registration form must be completed by New Jersey residents if they wish to vote in any upcoming election. In order to be eligible to register to vote, residents must be a U.S. citizen, at least seventeen (17) years old, a county resident for a minimum of thirty (30) days before Election Day, and not be serving a sentence or be on parole/probation for a felony conviction. Registration can either be accomplished in person or by mail through an individual’s local Election Office. In order to participate in an election, residents must register to vote at least twenty-one (21) days in advance of election day.

Where to Send Voter Registration Form – Send it to your local Election’s Office.

Voter ID (§ 19:31-5) – New Jersey residents are only required to present ID at their polling place when voting if they are voting in the state for the first time or if they were unable to provide the required identification when they registered to vote. Any type of valid photo ID is accepted or, alternatively, any document that displays the voter’s name and address (utility bill, lease, rent payment receipt, bank statement, etc.).
