The Alaska General Bill of Sale Form is a legal document which is used to document the sale and purchase or trade of any item or personal property that may be bought and sold between buyer and seller, personal property for the most part. This form could be used for any item or items large or small from bikes or furniture to livestock.

How To Write

Step 1 – Buyer and Seller Information – In this section, both the purchaser and the seller will provide their information in agreement of a sale/purchase. Both parties will provide the following:

  • Name
  • Driver’s License Number
  • Address
  • City
  • State

Step 2 – Property Details – This section will provide a brief description of the property being purchased or traded:

  • Provide a description of the property being sold or traded on the line provided. If more space is required, add a sheet with a continued description of the item or items and attach it to the form
  • Provide a serial number (SN) (if any) – enter it into the line provided on the form

Step 3 – Sale Price or Description of Trade Negotiation – This section will address either the dollar amount for which the item(s) are being purchased/sold or the negotiated trade agreement between the parties check the box that applies:

  • In the first line of this section, enter the purchase price in a dollar amount if this is a monetary agreement
  • Date of the Bill of Sale in mm/dd/yyyy format
  • Enter a final date when payment will be accepted
  • Other – If there are special arrangements of any kind, enter them in the line provided
  • Buyer is receiving the property as a gift
  • Seller accepts trade described as – enter the negotiated trade description on the line provided. If more space is required for the description, add a continued description on a separate sheet and attach it to the form

Once the transaction is complete, payment or trade has occurred, make a copy of the document and provide the original bill of sale to the purchaser or the person making the trade.
