An Alaska boat bill of sale is a legal document that provides information about a buyer, seller, and vessel when a boat transfers ownership. This document intends to ensure that the buyer is receiving the correct boat that will match registration information.

Registering a Boat
Any boat that comes under new ownership must be registered with Alaska within fifteen (15) days. Registration is valid for three (3) years and expires at the end of the same month of initial registration. All renewals must be conducted in person.
If registration is lost, a boat owner can obtain a new version (if there are no changes) using the DMV’s online services.
