A Rhode Island general warranty deed is a deed used for conveying property from one person to another. The person selling or transferring the property is referred to as the grantor and the person purchasing the property is called the grantee. The parties must execute the document in accordance with state law, and record the conveyance with the appropriate registry within their jurisdiction.

Recording the Deed
According to Gen. Laws 1956, § 34-11-1, all deeds are to be in writing and recorded in the city/town where the property is located (View All City/Town Websites).
Statutory Form
The warranty deed must contain the words “with warranty covenants” (Gen. Laws 1956, § 34-11-12).
