Connecticut law requires that a landlord attach the one-page Right to Counsel Form published by the CT Judicial Branch when the tenant qualifies under one of the following:
—Tenant either (i) has a household income at or below eighty per cent of the state median income adjusted for family size, as determined by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, at the time of the request for representation;
—Tenant receives one of the following types of public assistance: (i) Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, (ii) Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits, (iii) Medicaid, (iv) Supplemental Security Income, (v) refugee resettlement benefits, (vi) rental assistance under chapter 138a2 of the general statutes, or (vii) the federal Housing Choice Voucher Program; OR
—Tenant currently rents a state or federal housing unit.
