A Washington D.C. limited power of attorney form allows you to choose someone to handle a specific task on your behalf. The person choosing someone else (the “principal”) is required to sign the form in the presence of a notary public for it to become in effect. Afterward, the person selected (the “agent”) will be allowed to act in the place of the principal as long as they have a clean duplicate copy of the limited power of attorney. This is a non-durable form meaning it will become invalid in the event the principal is incapacitated.
Signing Requirements – Notary public.
