  • Maximum Term: For grandparents: unlimited duration. For military deployment: length of deployment, plus 30 days.[1] For all other reasons: 1 year.[2]
  • Signing Requirements: Must be signed under oath and notarized. A copy must be filed within ten days of the power of attorney being executed, in the probate court of the county in which the child resides.[3]
