A Montana minor (child) power of attorney form is a document that allows parents to appoint someone to take care of their child and make decisions on their child's behalf. This is useful if a parent is going to be deployed, requires hospitalization for a period of time, or is otherwise unavailable.

Laws

  • Maximum Term: 6 months. This does not apply to active duty US military, Montana national guard serving more than 180 consecutive days, or federal reserves serving more than 180 consecutive days.[1]
  • Signing Requirements: Must be notarized.[2]
