Financial Powers
A financial power of attorney is terminated if:[1]
- The principal dies;
- The principal becomes incapacitated and the power of attorney is not durable;
- The principal terminates the power of attorney (with a form);
- The power of attorney has an end date;
- The purpose of the power of attorney is completed; or
- The agent resigns, becomes incapacitated, or dies.
Medical Powers
A power of attorney for health care can be revoked by the principal by:[2]
- Communicating the intent to revoke to the attending physician or agent, either verbally or in writing.
