The New Hampshire Rental Application Form is used, by Property Managers and Property Owners, to screen through rental applicants for ideal Tenants. This can be a daunting task at times considering the amount of information that must be gathered, reviewed and verified. Obviously, once the number of applicants is in the double digits having a set format that each applicant uses will provide the level of orderliness necessary for easily scanning applications. This will aid in avoiding having to fumble several documents containing an applicant’s consent, financial contact information, and/or employment during the review process. This document will gather all the necessary information to make an assessment and provides a space for the Prospective tenant’s consent signature.

This application also provides the applicants with a sense of safety. After all, a sizeable amount of personal information ranging from one’s identity to one’s close family members. Obviously, when divulging such information an applicant wants to be sure their information will be respected and they will not be discriminated against. While this will not guarantee against the actions of a disgruntled applicant, the use of a written application will demonstrate that an office takes one’s information seriously and will base their decision on the same information across applications.

How to Write

For Office Use

Step 1 – Enter the amount of money the applicant must submit with the Application in the upper right hand corner. This will be the non-refundable processing fee for the Application.

Step 2 – At the bottom of the document, locate the phrase “Do Not Write Below this Line.” Enter the amount of money received from the Applicant with this application in the first blank space available. Then on the right, circle whether this money was submitted as Cash, a Check, or On-Line.

Step 3 – Sign your Name at the bottom of this document then provide a Date for this signature.

For Applicant

Step 1 – In the upper left hand corner of this document, enter the date you are filling out this application. Also make sure the non-refundable processing fee is defined in the upper right hand corner of this application.

Step 2 – Locate the heading, “Applicant Name.” Enter your Full Name on the first blank space then your Phone Number on the second blank space.

Step 3 – On the second line, fill in your Social Security Number, Date of Birth, and Email Address on the spaces provided (in the same order).

Step 4 – On the third line, write your Driver’s License Number in the space provided.

Step 5 – Locate the section labeled “Applicant Rental History.” On the first line, write in Your Current Street Address on the first blank space and the City, State, and Zip Code on the second blank space. On the second line, enter the amount of Rent you pay every month and the Date Range of the time you maintained this residence. On the third line, enter you current Landlord’s Name and Phone number, Then the Reason for Moving. Below this will be a space to enter this information for the Previous Address in the same order (Previous Street Address, Previous City/State/Zip, Previous Rent Amount, Previous Date Range for living there, Previous Landlord Name and Phone Number, and the Reason you moved from your last address).

Step 6 – Locate the section heading labeled “Applicant Employment History.” On the first line enter your Current Employer’s Name and Address on the first blank space then your Date of Hire on the second blank space. On the next line enter the current Position you hold there then your Hourly and how many Hours per Week you work on the two blank spaces provided. Next, enter your current Supervisor’s Name and Contact Phone Number on the spaces provided. The next three lines will be reserved for the same information regarding your previous employer (Previous Employer Name, Address, Date of Hire, Position, Hourly Wage, How many Hours per Week you worked, your previous Supervisor’s Name, and previous Supervisor’ Contact Phone Number).

Step 7 – If there is a Co-Applicant, he/she must fill in the Co-Applicant sections and provide the same information as that in Steps 2 through 4 in the same order. Otherwise, proceed to the next section and read the disclosure/consent paragraph below the Co-Applicant section.

Step 8 – Below the Disclosure/Consent paragraph, there will be four bullet points. In the first Bullet Point, enter the Rental Unit Address for the property you are applying for and your Desired Move-In Date on the spaces provided. In the next Bullet Point, enter the Name and Age of everyone who will live with you, also, report what each individual’s relationship to you is. The third Bullet Point require the Name, Address, and Phone Number of your Emergency Contact while the fourth Bullet Point shall require you list any pets that shall live with you (provide a description and name). Finally, in the last Bullet Point, report the Make, Model, Color, and License Plate Number of all the vehicles you wish to park on the property.

Step 9 – The final step will be for each Applicant to sign his or her Name and provide the Date of the Signature. Below this, each applicant will have to provide a “Yes” or “No” as to whether they have ever been convicted of a Felony or ever Evicted. If the answer to either of these questions is “Yes” there will be a space below to provide an explanation.
