A New Jersey Do Not Resuscitate (DNR or DNAR) order form is issued by a physician, at a patient's request, that informs medical staff not to administer CPR in the event of respiratory failure or cardiac arrest. Such orders are most often issued because a patient is already in critical condition or suffering from a terminal illness.
