Registering a Boat
Any watercraft that has a motor or is 12 feet or longer must be registered with the state of Missouri. New boat owners have 60 days from the date of purchase to register their watercraft. Registrations must be renewed every three years and expire on June 30 of the designated year.[1]
Renewal information can be found online at the DMV’s Renewal Requirements Inquiry. They can be processed by mail or in person at a Missouri DMV office.
Where to Register
Boat owners can register their vessels at any Missouri Department of Revenue office.
Required Documents
- Application for Missouri Boat/Vessel or Outboard Motor Title and Registration (Form 93);
- Bill of Sale (Form 1957);
- Paid personal property tax receipt or statement of non-assessment;[2] and
- Registration Fees.
