A credit report adverse action notice is sent to a rejected applicant for credit or housing based on their credit report. The average credit score in the USA is 711, and anything below 670 represents a “bad” credit score.[1][2]
The applicant can obtain a free copy of their credit report within 60 days of receiving the rejection.

The adverse action notice should include information (phone number and address) on how the applicant can get their free copy.
