Employment Adverse Action Notice

Updated April 15, 2022

An employment adverse action notice is federally required to be given when a person is rejected based on a background check. When interviewing new candidates, it’s common to obtain their personal information and consent to run a criminal history report. An applicant has the right to view a free copy by contacting the consumer agency that provided the report within 60 days.
