Registering a Boat

Any watercraft that has a motor or is twelve (12) feet or longer must be registered with the state of Missouri. New boat owners have sixty (60) days from the date of purchase to register their watercraft. Registrations must be renewed every three years and expire on June 30th of the designated year.[1] Renewal information can be found online at the DMV’s Renewal Requirements Inquiry. They can be processed by mail or in-person at a Missouri DMV office.

Boat owners can register their vessels at any Missouri Department of Revenue office.
