A South Dakota Independent Contractor Agreement is a legal instrument that binds a client and an independent contractor to a set of terms that dictate the relationship between the two parties and the responsibilities of both individuals. Both client and contractor must sign the contract after relaying and agreeing to the terms relayed therein. This document outlines the exact services for which the contractor is being hired, and also defines the contractor’s independent status which states that they have the power to dictate the exact process of completion without the interference of the client. The contractor can hire subcontractors and employees and in turn dictate their compensation based on the payment received from the client.
