Washington Independent Contractor Agreement

Updated February 17, 2022

A Washington Independent Contractor Agreement is a legal document signed by a contractor and a client (an individual or entity) that enters the two into business together. The status of an independent contractor, as opposed to that of an employee, enables the contractor to operate free of direction by the client over the performance of the service. It also provides them with the power to hire subcontractors and employees, and to establish their pay and schedule as they deem fit. However, prior to the signing of the document, both parties must agree upon a due date and a price for the services rendered by the contractor.
