A nurse is a highly trained individual who is licensed by a State Board of Nursing to administer medical services within that state. Most states allow nurses that are licensed in another state to practice in their state, although, it is best to verify each state’s requirements.

  • Hourly Rate: $36.22/hr

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct diagnostic exams and tests;
  • Administer medications, orally and intravenously;
  • Enter data and results into patient medical records;
  • Collecting patient samples (blood, feces, etc.)
  • Cleaning wounds and post-surgery care;
  • Supervising nursing assistants and other medical personnel;
  • Working long hours/shifts, especially if part of surgery teams;
  • Able to work with many types of medical equipment;
  • Assist medical staff (ex. surgeons, doctors, etc.); and
  • Being able to work remotely or at a medical office.

Qualifications

  • Licensed in the State (or allowed to practice through reciprocity);
  • American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) certification;
  • At least some experience in a specific field; and
  • A willingness to learn on-site and work with team members.
