An Arkansas subcontractor agreement is a written contract entered into between two parties – a contractor (or project manager) and a subcontractor. This type of agreement is required when a subcontractor is needed to provide a particular set of skills to complete a specific job. A subcontractor agreement helps establish the project’s timeline, the type of work that will be involved, and the payment in exchange for the subcontractor’s services. A written agreement is usually beneficial for both parties; the contractor is able to set a time frame for project completion (with the possibility of a penalty for failure to make the deadline) and the subcontractor is able to negotiate certain clauses to prevent unfair risks to their business.
