A California subcontractor agreement is a written document that establishes a business arrangement between a subcontractor and the party that hires them (contractor, project manager, etc.). A subcontractor, as an individual with a particular set of skills, is hired to carry out a specific job during a specific job of a larger project.

“Subcontractor” Definition

“Subcontractor” means a person who has entered into a construction contract either with a contractor to perform a portion of that contractor’s work under a construction contract or with any person to perform a construction contract subject to the direction or control of a general contractor or construction manager.
