A California subcontractor agreement is a written document that establishes a business arrangement between a subcontractor and the party that hires them (contractor, project manager, etc.). A subcontractor, being an individual with a particular set of skills, will be hired by a contractor to carry out a specific job during a specific job of a larger project. A subcontractor agreement allows the parties to make a fair and reasonable deal in regard to payment in exchange for the subcontractor’s services. All tasks that are to be completed by the subcontractor will be outlined in the agreement as well as payment information (amount, timetable, etc.). Anything that the subcontractor deems unjust should be brought up before the document is signed by both parties.
