A Nebraska notary acknowledgment form is a document that a notary public fills out in order to provide the notarization that certain legal instruments require. This acknowledgment verifies the signer’s identity and desire to sign the legal document into action. Mortgages, property transfers, affidavits, deeds, and power of attorney forms are some examples of documents that require notarization. Some documents will have the notary acknowledgment included in them, otherwise, the signer will need to attach the Nebraska notary acknowledgment form. Once their document has been filled out, the signer will bring it to the notary, along with a valid photo ID, to be notarized.

How to Notarize in Nebraska

Step 1 – You can find a notary public in Nebraska at a bank or credit union (such as U.S. Bank or Mutual First Federal Credit Union), a UPS Store, or by locating a private notary. Once you have found a notary who can notarize your document, you will need to agree on a time that you can meet them.

Step 2 – Before bringing your document to be notarized, you will need to fill it out and attach the notary acknowledgment form. It isn’t required to sign the document in front of the notary, but if they request that you do, leave the signature field(s) blank.

Step 3 – When you go to see the notary public, you will need to bring your photo ID (with signature) and your completed document with the notary acknowledgment form attached. The notary will examine your ID to verify that your identity is authentic and that your ID signature matches your signature on the document.

Step 4 – The notary will fill out the notary acknowledgment form, supplying their handwritten signature and their notary seal or stamp.

Step 5 – After completing all of the above steps, your document will have been notarized.
