A Washington single member operating agreement is a legal document that is used by a sole proprietor of a business to assist them in establishing various company procedures and policies. This document will serve a sole owner/manager of a business just as well as the agreement would serve a larger multi-member company. The document will also establish protections that would not otherwise be available to the private finances and assets of a single member, by creating a separation between the business and the assets of the business from those of the owner.
Once the document is completed with the required information, the owner/manager would file it with the state of Washington. There are also tax benefits available that are available by the establishment of an LLC status.
