A North Carolina rental application is a form used by landlords when determining whether an applicant should be approved for tenancy. The prospective tenant would complete the application and return it for a review. If the landlord is comfortable with the prospective tenant after a review of the application, then the tenant would be offered the opportunity to take residency on the property. All information must be typed or printed.
Laws
- Application Fee – There is no legal limit for application fees (no statute).
- Security Deposit – The landlord may charge up to two (2) months’ rent for security deposits. For tenancies at will, the maximum amount is one and a half (1.5) months’ rent (§ 42-51(b)).
