A Pennsylvania rental application is a form provided to a prospective tenants from a landlord for the purposes of reviewing qualifications. Prospective tenants will be required to enter their personal information that allows the landlord to review. The landlord will check to verify the income and employment history of the tenant. After reviewing, the landlord will choose to accept or reject the tenant.
Laws
- Application Fee – No limit to the amount a landlord can charge for an application fee; fees are non-refundable (no statute).
- Security Deposit – No landlord may ask for a security deposit amount in excess of two months’ rent (§ 511.1(a)).
