Laws

  • Minimum Termination Period โ€“ Either party may cancel a month-to-month lease agreement by providing written notice 30 days in advance, or ten days in advance for a week-to-week lease.[1]
  • Increasing Rent โ€“ Tennessee state law does not limit rent increases. Landlords may increase rent by issuing 30 days’ notice for the tenant to accept or terminate the altered agreement.
