The Vermont Rental Application is a document that is provided by an owner, landlord or property manager to an applicant for the purpose of applying to acquire access to a rental property. The document requires that information be provided about the applicant, that the landlord will then have permission to verify as a prospective tenant. The document will provide current and past employment and rental information, credit information, references and more. With the applicant’s signature, the landlord will have permission to verify the information provided.

How to Write

Step 1 – Apartment Information – Enter:

  • The address of the rental property
  • Provide the rate
  • Enter the start date
  • Enter the information as to where the applicant heard about the property for rent

Step 2 – Applicant’s Information – Enter the required information into the fields provided:

  • Social Security Number
  • Date of Birth

Provide the names of those expected to be occupants within the premises:

Step 3 – Residential History – Enter the history for the last 3 years:

Enter the required information for any previous residential rentals within the last 3 years as follows:

Step 4 – Employment Information and History – Provide the following:

  • Occupation
  • Current Employer
  • Address
  • F/T
  • P/T
  • From (date)
  • To (date)
  • Position/Title
  • Supervisor Name
  • Phone
  • AND

(if employed less than one year) Provide any previous employer information:

  • Previous Employer
  • Address
  • F/T P/T
  • From (date)
  • To (date)
  • Position/Title
  • Supervisor Name
  • Phone

Step 5 – Financial Information – Enter the following:

  • Enter all sources of income to include your current employer
  • Enter your gross monthly amount

Step 6 – Emergency Contacts – Provide the following information:

  • Name
  • Telephone Number
  • Relationship

Step 7 – Description of Credit History – Read the questions and provide information by clicking the yes or no boxes on the right

  • Add any information that you feel may assist the landlord in evaluation of the application

Step 8 – Signatures – Read all of the remaining information and provide a signature to allow permission for the landlord to verify all provided information:
