Minnesota Voter Registration Form – Register to Vote in MN

A Minnesota voter registration form is used to register a Minnesota resident, enabling them to vote in local, state, and federal elections. In order to be eligible to vote, an individual must be at least 18 years of age on Election Day, a U.S. citizen, and a Minnesota resident for at least 20 days before election day. Furthermore, residents must be mentally competent, and cannot be serving a sentence for a felony. Registration can be accomplished four (4) different ways; by mailing in the registration form, by registering online, by applying in person at your local election office, or by bringing the required ID and registering at the polling station on election day. If you register online, you must have an email address.

Voter ID (§201.061) – ID is not required as long as the individual has registered to vote. To register on election day, however, one will be required to present either a valid Minnesota driver’s license, Minnesota ID card, or a Tribal ID card. Alternatively, they may bring a different government-issued ID or Minnesota student ID, along with a proof of residence (utility bill or lease).
