A New Mexico voter registration form that residents can complete and deliver to their local county clerk or to New Mexico’s Secretary of State to register to vote. The registration deadline is twenty-eight (28) days before election day and residents must be a U.S. citizen, at least eighteen (18) years old on election day, mentally competent, and not convicted of a felony in order to be eligible for registration. When registering by mail, residents must provide a copy of either a valid photo ID or a proof of address, such as a utility bill, paycheck, or bank statement. Furthermore, unlike most states, New Mexico requires voters to provide their complete Social Security Number when registering.

Voter ID (§1-4-5.1) – New Mexico residents are only required to present ID when they vote if they were unable to provide the required identification with their voter registration form. Any valid photo ID or proof of address (utility bill, lease, paycheck, bank statement, etc.) will be accepted.
