Updated August 11, 2023

A North Carolina voter registration form can be used by state residents to register to vote in an upcoming election or to change their voter information. In order to be eligible to vote, residents must be a U.S. citizen who is at least eighteen (18) years old and has been a resident of their county for a minimum of thirty (30) days before Election Day. Additionally, residents cannot vote if they are serving a prison sentence for a felony conviction or if they are registered to vote in another county or state. The deadline for voter registration is twenty-five (25) days before the next Election Day. However, residents can register at their polling station on Election Day by completing a Voter Registration Application and providing a valid ID (driver’s license, government-issued photo ID, proof of address, etc.).
