West Virginia Voter Registration Form – Register to Vote in WV

A West Virginia voter registration form allows first-time voters to register for upcoming municipal, state, and federal elections. If registering for the first time in West Virginia, or for the first time in the US and you have yet to vote in a federal election in West Virginia, you will be required to include with your form a copy of a valid and current State Approved ID. Previously registered individuals may also use the registration form for the purposes of indicating a change of name, address, or political party affiliation. The paper version of the application has been detailed in the instructions below, though you may also complete the entire registration process online by accessing the Secretary of State online portal.

Where to Send Voter Registration Form – West Virginia DMV, Secretary of State, or a County Clerk’s Office.

Voter ID (§ 3-1-34, effective January 1, 2018) – Voters will be required to present one (1) of the following documents:

  • Paycheck
  • Bank statement
  • Valid photo ID
  • Government check
  • Utility bill
  • Other official government document
