A New Hampshire boat bill of sale proves the change of ownership of a boat or watercraft between two (2) parties. The document includes important information about the vessel including but not limited to the make, color, year of manufacture, length (bow to stern), principal construction material, type of propulsion, type of fuel, and the number of engines. It also provides information about the buyer and seller that are required for registration.
Signing Requirements: Both the seller and buyer must sign this document. It also must be notarized.

Registering a Boat
Any vessel that is motorized or twelve (12) feet long or longer must be registered with the state of New Hampshire. All boat registrations expire on December 31st of the calendar year, regardless of the original registration date. Renewals can be processed by mail to the Concord, NH DMV office.
Where to Register
New boat owners can register their watercraft at an authorized boat agent, at a New Hampshire DMV drop box, or by mail to the Concord, NH DMV office.

- Boat Registration Application;
- Registration Fees; and
- Verification of vessel identification (if the boat is homemade).
