The New Hampshire General Bill of Sale is a form that is generally used between two private parties for the purpose of providing proof of legal sale and purchase of personal property of any type. The document will provide buyer and seller information as well, information regarding the item(s) be sold and purchased. The document will prove change of ownership and must be notarized.

How to Write

Step 1 – Seller and Buyer Information – Provide information regarding the parties as instructed on the form and as follows:

  • Driver’s License Number
  • Physical Address

  • State
  • AND
  • The Buyer –
  • Name
  • Driver’s License Number
  • Physical Address
  • City
  • State

Step 2 – Property Details – Describe the details of the property being sold and purchased:

  • Details
  • Serial Number (SN) (if applicable)

Step 3 – Trade/Purchase Price – Select the boxes that apply:

  • If checking this box, the seller will accept only monetary payment – Enter the dollar amount in words
  • Enter the dollar amount in numbers
  • Be specific with the date when the parties have agreed that payment will be made mm/dd/yyyy format
  • Enter the date that the document will be known as in mm/dd/yyyy format
  • If the parties have agreed that payment will be made at a later date, enter that date mm/dd/yyyy format
  • Other – If other agreements have been made between the parties enter the conditions of the agreement
  • Select this box if the item(s) are intended as a gift
  • The last box in this section will address a decision between the parties to make a trade. Provide a brief description of the terms

Step 4 – Seller’s Disclosure – After the seller reviews the statements in this section, they must disclose any defects

  • Once the defects (if any) have been disclosed the seller must proceed by providing their signature on the form

Step 5 – Signatures – If all signatories are present and before a notary public enter the following:

  • The Seller –
  • Signature
  • Printed Name
  • AND
  • The Buyer –
  • Signature
  • Printed Name
  • AND
  • The Witness – 
  • Signature
  • Printed Name

Step 6 – Notarization – As the notary witnesses all signatures, the notary will complete the remainder of the form, also affixing their state seal.

  • Provide copies of the completed document for record keeping
  • Provide the original copy to the buyer
