Wisconsin Security Deposit Demand Letter

Updated December 02, 2022

The Wisconsin security deposit demand letter is a document that is served on a landlord by a previous tenant who has not had their initial payment refunded to them within the lawful time limit. After a lease has been terminated or a tenant has been evicted, the landlord must deliver the tenant’s security deposit to them within twenty-one (21) days from the date that the property was vacated. If the landlord makes any deductions upon the deposit for damages or outstanding payments, they must prepare a statement of itemized deductions and deliver it to the tenant within the forty-five (45) day period (if deductions have been made).
