An Illinois employment contract agreement is a document containing the terms regarding an employee’s job or position with an employer. Both parties must agree with the terms and conditions contained within the agreement before signing the document. An employer may insist on an employee signing such an agreement if they are hiring a high-level or highly-paid manager who will become privy to company information and trade secrets. Inversely, an employee might find a contract beneficial to clearly define their rights, duties, responsibilities, income, and how they can and cannot be terminated. Furthermore, an employee may wish to negotiate guarantees from the employer if they are a highly sought-after professional.
