Virginia Independent Contractor Agreement

Updated February 17, 2022

A Virginia Independent Contractor Agreement binds two (2) individuals, the client and the contractor, to a set of terms and conditions by which they must operate throughout their business relationship. An agreement such as this is used when a client needs to hire a temporary contractor to complete a task or render a service. The contract enables both parties to avoid future litigation and to establish their own rights and responsibilities in the arrangement. The status of an independent contractor is outlined within the document to ensure that the relationship held between them and the client is not one of an employer and employee.
