A Wisconsin Independent Contractor Agreement is the contract drawn up between a contractor and a client which details the services provided by the contractor in exchange for financial compensation supplied by the client. In the state of Wisconsin, an individual offering a service as an independent contractor is only defined as such if they meet the conditions relayed in the Wisconsin State Statutes. These conditions include maintaining a separate business with an office, equipment, and materials, operating under contracts in which they control the means of performing the services, and holding a valid federal employer identification number. The definition of the contractor’s independent status can be found in the contractual agreement and will dictate several provisions by which most parties must operate throughout their business relationship.
