North Dakota Subcontractor Agreement

Updated April 26, 2023

A North Dakota subcontractor agreement is a legal document by which a subcontractor can be engaged to work on another party’s contract. A subcontractor is an individual who has been hired to supply materials and/or services for anyone other than the principal client, either by the main contractor or by another subcontractor that is working on the same project. Construction projects will often need subcontractors to complete specific portions of the work, such as woodwork, stone masonry, roofing, and drywalling. The individual who hires the subcontractor will be responsible for paying them the agreed rate in accordance with their contract’s payment schedule (assuming that the subcontractor fulfills their duties).

“”Subcontractor” means all persons contributing any skill, labor, or materials to the improvement except such as have contracts therefor directly with the owner; and, includes any person who enters into a contract with a subcontractor as above defined, for the performance of any part of such subcontractor’s contract.”
