A Washington D.C. notice to comply or quit is delivered to a tenant when they are in violation of their rental contract (except for late rent). The tenant will be responsible for fixing (“curing”) the issue within a thirty (30) day period or be required to vacate the property.
If the tenant neither cures nor vacates the property within the timeframe, the landlord will be forced to file an eviction.
Notice Period – 30 days.[1]
