An Iowa 3-Day Notice to Quit (Non-Payment) is a letter informing a tenant of their failure to pay rent on the day it was due. This form can be sent to a tenant immediately following the day rent was due. This notice will give the tenant three (3) days to pay up or move out. If the tenant fails to pay rent within three days after written notice, the landlord may terminate the rental agreement.
If the tenant refuses to pay rent due to a condition in which he or she believes the landlord is responsible for, the tenant must give 7 days notice prior to the due date informing the landlord of the issue.
