A dry cleaning receipt proves that a company received payment in exchange for dry cleaning services. The recipient of the cleaning services (the “customer”) may require the receipt to collect their articles or garments when cleaned and ready for pick-up. Customers may also need a dry cleaning receipt if the rendered services are tax-deductible. In these circumstances, the receipt should be retained for the amount of time demanded by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
