Laws
- Delivery: Missouri law does not specifically determine how this type of notice must be delivered. It is recommended that delivery is made in person, by certified mail with return receipt, or by posting it at a conspicuous location on the premises if the tenant cannot be found.
- Notice Period: The termination date must be on a rent-paying date not less than one month of receipt of the notice.[1]
- Penalty for Holdover: If the tenant remains on the property without the landlord’s permission, the landlord may recover double the rent that would have been due for the time the tenant stayed.[2][3]
