A Missouri month-to-month rental agreement is a contract between a landlord and a tenant for the leasing of residential property. The agreement renews indefinitely until one of the parties decides to cancel and provides the required notice.

Laws

  • Minimum Termination Period – One month’s notice is required to terminate a month-to-month lease.[1]
  • Increasing Rent – Missouri state law allows landlords to increase rent at their discretion. Therefore, landlords can provide increase rent on a month-to-month tenancy by providing 30 days’ notice according to the terms of the lease.
