A Maine landlord’s notice to enter permits the property owner or an agent to enter the premises of an occupied dwelling for purposes allowed by law. Maine law requires “reasonable” notice, with notice of at least twenty-four (24) hours presumed to be reasonable, and requires the landlord to enter only at reasonable times.

Notice can be used for
- Inspecting the premises;
- Making necessary or agreed repairs, decorations, alterations or improvements;
- Supplying necessary or agreed services; and
- Exhibiting the dwelling unit to prospective or actual purchasers, tenants, mortgagees, workers or contractors.
