  1. Lead-Based Paint DisclosureFor properties built before 1978, landlords must inform tenants that the walls and ceilings may contain lead-based paint.
  2. Methamphetamines Disclosure – If the property was ever used to manufacture methamphetamines, the landlord is required by state law to notify new tenants.[1]

Security Deposit Laws

Maximum Amount – One month’s rent.[2]

Returning – Security deposits must be returned within 14 days of move-out. Deductions, if made, must be listed in writing for the tenant.[3]

Rent Payment Laws

Grace Period – None.

Maximum Late Fee – None.

NSF Fee – A landlord can charge up to $40 as a penalty for a bad check.[4]
