Montana Voter Registration Form – Register to Vote in MT

A Montana voter registration form can be submitted to your local county elections office to register to vote in any upcoming election. You are only eligible to vote if you are a U.S. citizen, at least eighteen (18) years old, a Montana resident for a minimum of thirty (30) days, mentally competent, and not a convicted felon. The registration deadline is thirty (30) days before election day; however, you can still late register at your county elections office up until the polls close on Election Day. When you vote, you are required to present an accepted form of identification.

Where to Send Voter Registration Form – Send it to your county elections office.

Voter ID (§ 13-13-114, § 13-15-107) – In order to vote, registered voters must present one of the four (4) types of accepted IDs listed below at their polling station.

  • Driver’s license
  • School ID
  • Tribal photo ID
  • Proof of address (utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, voter registration card, government check, or other government with your name and address)

Registered voters without proper ID can still vote at their polling station by signing a provisional ballot affirmation. If the voter’s signature on the provisional ballot affirmation matches their signature on their voter registration, their ballot will be counted.
