Pennsylvania Independent Contractor Agreement

Updated February 21, 2022

A Pennsylvania independent contractor agreement is used to establish the working relationship between a client and a contractor. For an individual to be considered an independent contractor, they must be free from outside management of their performance and have a history of conducting such work. The agreement must describe the type of work to be completed, when the contractor will be paid, how much they will be paid, and the date by which the work must be completed. If the job involves any safety concerns, the client may wish to include an insurance clause to reduce the risk of liability. Once the contractor agreement is complete and both parties have signed it, the contract will be validated until such a time that the terms are fulfilled, the due date and/or contract expiration date has passed, or the agreement has been terminated.
