Laws

In cases where the tenancy is outlined in a written agreement, the landlord must refund the deposit within the period described in the agreement so long as the duration does not exceed 30 days. When the tenancy is at-will (e.g., month-to-month), the security deposit must be returned within 21 days from the expiration of the tenancy or the delivery of possession by the tenant, whichever is later.[1]
